Product Development

The stage that decides whether a programme is profitable. Fabric, fit and trims worked backwards from your target retail price rather than forwards from a catalogue.

Knitted polo shirts and tees in a range of colours, produced by UNF Corp Inc.

How development runs

  1. Brief — category, reference garments, target retail price, market and quantity.
  2. Fabric — options within your price band, with hand-feel swatches before commitment.
  3. Fit — a block developed from your reference or your existing pattern, then fit rounds.
  4. Trims — labels, hardware and packaging specified alongside the garment.
  5. Costing — a line-item cost sheet, not a single number.

What to send us

A tech pack if you have one. If you do not, a reference garment plus your target price is enough to start — we will build the specification from there. Sending neither means we are guessing, and guessing shows up as three extra sample rounds.

Frequently asked questions

Do you charge for samples?
Sampling and courier costs are quoted per programme. They are typically credited against a confirmed production order.
How many fit rounds are normal?
Two to three for a new block. More than that usually means the original brief was underspecified rather than the pattern being wrong.
