Percale or sateen
Percale is a plain one-over-one weave: matte, crisp, breathable, and it launders well. Sateen is a four-over-one weave: smoother, with a subtle sheen and heavier drape, and it shows wear sooner under industrial laundering.
Retail programmes often favour sateen for how it photographs. Contract programmes almost always specify percale.
Thread count, honestly
Thread count above roughly 400 is generally achieved by counting multi-ply yarns rather than by making a better fabric. We will quote what you ask for, but 200–300 TC in a good long-staple cotton outperforms an inflated 800 TC in practice, and we would rather say so than sell the number.
